Confidential Resource Advisors (CRA's)
Access to Confidential Resource Advisors (CRAs) at GW
Under D.C. Law (D.C. Act 26-59), George Washington University designates at least two Confidential Resource Advisors (CRAs) to provide emergency and ongoing support to students and employees seeking resources related to sexual misconduct. CRAs provide a safe, private space to learn about your options, access campus and community resources, and navigate next steps—all completely free of charge.
What is a Confidential Resource Advisor (CRA)?
A Confidential Resource Advisor is a designated, trained professional who provides confidential guidance and support to any student or employee impacted by sexual misconduct (including sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, stalking, and sexual harassment).
- Confidential Support: Sharing information with a CRA is strictly confidential and does not constitute actual or constructive notice of sexual misconduct to the University. Speaking with a CRA will not trigger a formal report, investigation, or disciplinary process unless you explicitly request to initiate one.
- Exploring Options: CRAs can explain options for reporting to GW Public Safety, local/federal law enforcement, or the Title IX Coordinator, including the processes required for each.
Navigating Supportive Measures: CRAs help you request and navigate supportive measures, such as academic accommodations (e.g., class withdrawals or incompletes), housing adjustments, or workplace flexibility.
